About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Android Engineer/Developer to design, develop, and enhance our mobile application for airline passengers. We are seeking an engineer who is willing to tackle problems with innovative ideas and deliver high-quality technical implementations. In this role, you will play a key part in empowering passengers worldwide to claim and protect their rights. You will lead and shape the technical direction of our mobile development efforts, contribute innovative ideas for modernization, and grow into a leadership position within the engineering team.This role reports directly to the Head of IT and has a dotted-line reporting relationship to the CEO.What You Bring:

  • Several years of professional Android app development experience, preferably on apps with a large user base, with proven successes in the field.
  • Deep technical expertise in Android development, specifically using Kotlin and Jetpack, Compose, patterns, and good practices related to developing apps for the Android platform.
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery with Google Play Services APIs, Firebase APIs, Google Maps APIs, or other external API services (desirable).
  • Solid understanding of software design patterns (MVC, MVI, MVVM) and modern UI development frameworks.
  • Experience with RxJava, JUnit, Coroutines, and Espresso.
  • You care about quality and know what it means to ship high-quality code.
  • Knowledge of version control systems.
  • You have strong experience writing automated tests, including unit tests, UI tests, and screenshot tests.
  • Strong understanding of architectural patterns and the ability to apply them in complex projects to ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Prior experience with CI/CD, Gradle, and static code quality analytics, with a focus on improving and streamlining the build, test, and deployment process.
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of the mobile development lifecycle, including application development, application structure, device and operating system APIs, debugging, performance, security, and deployment.
  • Utilization and integration of mobile features like Push Notifications, Background Loading, Offline Content Storage, etc.
  • Practical understanding of design patterns and UI/UX design principles.
  • Experience in material design customizations and animations.
  • Experience in LegalTech, TravelTech, Airlines & Aviation, and/or Travel Arrangements industries would be a great asset.
  • Genuine interest in staying up to date with the latest developments in the Android ecosystem and continuously improving your craft.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of Ukrainian or Russian would be beneficial for cooperation with our broader technical team, but it is not a must-have requirement.

What You Will Do:

  • LEAD the efforts of designing, developing, and refining our Android app dedicated to airline passengers using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Design and develop architecture and technical design for mobile applications, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and a high-quality user experience for passengers worldwide.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and product owners to deliver high-quality services and features.
  • Develop and continuously modernize our app, focusing on user experience while maintaining a high-quality codebase and iteratively improving performance.
  • Build and maintain testable, maintainable, and scalable code aligned with Android best practices.
  • Maintain and improve our app infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Apply modern programming patterns (e.g., MVC, MVVM) and leverage development frameworks and tools (e.g., Declarative UI, Angular, React).
  • Implement analytics in all aspects of the application and analyze results.
  • Coordinate app releases.
  • Care about writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Create a clear and concise technical work breakdown that can be easily understood and executed by any team member, regardless of their level of seniority.
  • Identify system bottlenecks, reduce build times, improve modularization, and lead structural improvements.
  • Making key technical decisions, taking into account business requirements and technical conditions of the project
