A well-funded, AI-native Series B fintech startup is hiring Senior and Staff Full-Stack Software Engineers to help modernize one of the largest and most complex financial workflows in the United States.
The platform has already supported more than $85 billion in transactions and is expanding rapidly with major enterprise customers. You’ll join a remote-first engineering organization building mission-critical software with a modern TypeScript stack, strong developer tooling and substantial product ownership.
This is a hands-on position for engineers who enjoy working across the stack. The ideal candidate is comfortable spending approximately 50–60% of their time on backend development while still owning frontend features and infrastructure through production.
What you’ll do
- Build and launch full-stack products using TypeScript, Node.js, React and GraphQL.
- Architect high-throughput, distributed systems on AWS.
- Develop AI-powered agents that automate complex enterprise workflows.
- Integrate third-party APIs for document generation, underwriting, fraud prevention and other financial services.
- Improve reliability, observability, security and fault tolerance across mission-critical systems.
- Design and scale complex PostgreSQL schemas containing thousands of interconnected data fields.
- Own features from product discovery and architecture through deployment and production support.
- Collaborate directly with product and non-technical stakeholders.
- Mentor engineers while remaining primarily hands-on with production code.
Core requirements
- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- At least 5 years operating at Senior Engineer level or above.
- Recent, substantial full-stack TypeScript experience.
- Production experience with Node.js/Express and React.
- Experience with GraphQL/Apollo and PostgreSQL.
- Experience scaling distributed systems on AWS.
- Hands-on infrastructure-as-code experience, preferably Terraform.
- A balanced full-stack background, ideally 50/50 or 60/40 backend/frontend.
- At least two years of stable tenure and progression within a technology company.
- Experience at a VC-backed startup, high-growth software company or FAANG-level organization.
- Strong product thinking, communication and awareness of security risks.
- Ability to work remotely during U.S. business hours.
Nice to have
- Fintech, lending, mortgage or other regulated-product experience.
- AI product development, including evaluations, experimentation or dataset curation.
- Experience with ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, Kafka or Elasticsearch.
- Complex relational database design.
- SRE-oriented engineering and production observability.
- Active GitHub profile or meaningful side projects.
