We are currently in our early-stage scale-up phase and preparing for aggressive growth. We're now seeking a Head of Engineering to lead and scale our technology team.

Role Overview

As Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for managing our cross-functional development team, overseeing infrastructure, and leading the engineering support services. You will report directly to the CTO and work closely with product and operational leads to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions.

This is a hands-on, equity-only role to start, with a clear transition to a salaried position as we begin generating revenue. We’re looking for a self-starter who is excited about building real-world, mission-critical solutions under tight timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Management
• Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of frontend, backend, and mobile developers.
• Establish agile development processes and ensure high code quality and team productivity.
• Oversee and improve collaboration between engineering, product, and operations teams.
• Technical Delivery
• Be hands-on in architecture and development, with a particular focus on mobile and web stack integration.
• Own and drive end-to-end delivery of platform features, integrations, and customisations for SaaS and whitelabel solutions.
• Ensure our infrastructure (AWS, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines) is secure, scalable, and performant.
• Support & Infrastructure
• Lead technical support operations and post-launch maintenance protocols.
• Oversee uptime, incident response, and infrastructure health across services.
• Champion automation, monitoring, and best practices.
• Strategic Contribution
• Support go-to-market readiness of new SaaS and enterprise solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation, compliance reviews, and security planning.
• Collaborate with the CTO and executive team on technical direction, hiring, and scaling strategy.

Our Tech Stack

You must be comfortable and experienced with:

• Frontend: React JS, AngularJS
• Mobile: React Native (essential), Swift (iOS)
• Backend: Node.js
• Database: MongoDB
• Cloud/Infra: AWS (EC2, IAM, Cognito, S3, SQS/SNS)
• DevOps: CI/CD, Linux fundamentals

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience leading engineering teams in fast-paced, product-driven environments.
• Deep, hands-on experience with full-stack JavaScript, React Native, and AWS infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of SaaS architecture, microservices, APIs, and third-party integrations.
• Experience supporting customer deployments, whitelabel platforms, or multi-tenant systems.
• Comfortable working independently and under pressure, with strong ownership mentality.
• Passionate about building secure, scalable, user-centric products.
