Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer who thrives in a startup environment and enjoys taking ownership of projects from concept through deployment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about emerging technologies, actively builds and experiments outside of work, and embraces an AI-first approach to software development.
Unlike traditional development teams, our engineers focus on architecture, problem-solving, code review, and system design while leveraging modern AI coding platforms to accelerate development.
What You'll Do
- Design, build, and maintain scalable software applications
- Own projects from initial concept through deployment and support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex business and technical challenges
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools to improve delivery speed and quality
- Review, validate, and optimize AI-generated code
- Contribute to application architecture and technical decision-making
- Participate in team collaboration and occasional in-person planning sessions
Required Qualifications
- 5-7+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience with:
- TypeScript
- React
- MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
- Experience designing and delivering production applications
- Strong communication skills and ability to clearly define and solve problems
- Experience working in startup or high-growth environments
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Active contributor to open-source projects, side projects, or entrepreneurial ventures
- Experience using AI coding platforms such as:
- Claude Code
- OpenAI Codex
- Similar AI-assisted development tools
- Experience developing Generative AI applications
- Experience building products in healthcare technology environments
- Strong understanding of software architecture, algorithms, and system design
