Role: - Senior Full-Stack Cloud Application EngineerLocation- Seattle WA/ Portland, OR or West Cost -RemoteContract -Only Hourly W2 (NO C2C)-Role Summary

We need a senior engineer to own and deliver to application platform built on React, AWS CDK, and a multi-service architecture connected via PrivateLink. This role requires end-to-end feature ownership — from the React component, through CDK infrastructure, down to the IAM policy that makes it work.

The ideal candidate combines strong React/TypeScript frontend skills with genuine AWS networking and IAM depth. Most engineers skew one way or the other. We need both.

Primary Responsibilities (Daily Work)

React + TypeScript UI Development

  • Build and maintain complex UI pages in a large-scale React/TypeScript application
  • Own feature delivery end-to-end: design, implement, test, deploy

AWS CDK Infrastructure (TypeScript)

  • Author and maintain CDK stacks: VPC configurations, PrivateLink endpoints, IAM roles, Lambda functions, intermediate account patterns
  • Deploy infrastructure changes through CI/CD pipelines

AWS Networking

  • Configure and troubleshoot VPC endpoints, cross-region PrivateLink, and SigV4 request signing
  • Implement double-hop Assume Role patterns across AWS accounts

IAM and Authorization

  • Maintain an RBAC authorizer Lambda (Java) that governs platform access
  • Manage permission matrices and role chains across a multi-account AWS environment

Secondary Responsibilities (Weekly Work)

  • Write and maintain Playwright E2E tests
  • Develop and debug Lambda functions (Node.js for service proxies, Java for auth)
  • Manage CI/CD pipeline stages, npm-pretty-much builds
  • Execute FAST/security integration testing

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience with React and TypeScript in production applications
  • 3+ years of hands-on AWS CDK experience (TypeScript) deploying VPCs, Lambdas, and IAM resources
  • Deep understanding of AWS networking: VPC endpoints, PrivateLink, SigV4 signing
  • Experience with IAM cross-account role assumption and multi-account AWS patterns
  • Proficiency in at least one backend language (Node.js or Java) for Lambda development
  • Experience with E2E testing frameworks (Playwright preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with eCommerce domain
  • Experience navigating multi-service architectures where a UI proxies through Lambdas to backend services via PrivateLink
  • CI/CD pipeline experience with automated test integration
