Hiring: Senior Software Engineer (AI) | $160k–$180k + Super | Fully Remote (Australia)
I'm working with an Australian software business that's expanding its engineering team as it builds out a new AI-powered platform.
They're looking for a strong Senior Software Engineer who enjoys building products end-to-end and has practical experience integrating LLMs into production applications.
This isn't a research or data science position. It's a software engineering role focused on building reliable, scalable applications that use AI to automate complex workflows.
What you'll be doing:
- Building AI-powered product features using TypeScript and Node.js
- Developing LLM integrations and agentic workflows
- Working with structured and unstructured data
- Building APIs, backend services and cloud infrastructure
- Improving the accuracy, performance and reliability of AI functionality
- Collaborating with a small engineering team on architecture and product development
What we're looking for:
- Strong hands-on TypeScript and Node.js experience
- Experience building and shipping production LLM applications
- Familiarity with LangChain, LangGraph or similar frameworks
- Experience with AWS and cloud-native development
- Understanding of RAG, tool calling, structured outputs or AI workflow orchestration
- A product engineering mindset and confidence working independently
Package: $160k–$180k + Super
Location: Fully remote across Australia
