About The Role
We are seeking a skilled Mobile Developer specializing in React Native and Expo to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping the development of our new digital platform, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of mobile applications for both Android and iOS platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX designers, backend developers, DevOps, and QA specialists, to deliver high-quality, scalable, and performant mobile solutions. Your responsibilities will encompass the entire engineering lifecycle—from conceptualization and coding to testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance—ensuring the delivery of a superior user experience. This position offers the flexibility of partial mobile working within Germany and provides an opportunity to be at the forefront of digital innovation within a well-established retail organization.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess several years of professional experience in mobile application development using React Native and Expo, preferably within digital platforms or technology-driven growth companies. A solid understanding of modern software architectures, clean code principles, API design, testing methodologies, and performance optimization is essential. Experience working within agile teams and familiarity with cross-functional collaboration are highly valued. Basic knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud platforms such as Azure will be advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a strong sense of ownership, a hands-on approach, and entrepreneurial thinking. Proficiency in both German and English, spoken and written, is required to facilitate effective communication within our diverse team.
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the development and architecture design of our new digital platform, creating mobile applications for Android and iOS from scratch.
- Develop high-performance, scalable, and maintainable mobile apps utilizing React Native and Expo frameworks.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, UX designers, Backend, DevOps, and QA teams to deliver cohesive digital experiences.
- Take responsibility for the entire engineering process, including technical conception, development, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Ensure high software quality through adherence to modern development standards, automated testing, and rigorous code reviews.
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the mobile application architecture, supporting scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Continuously analyze and optimize app performance and stability, implementing improvements as needed.
- Bring innovative ideas to enhance user experience, streamline development processes, and refine technical architecture.
- Utilize modern AI-powered tools to improve code quality, testing procedures, documentation, and developer productivity.
- Own your solutions end-to-end and assist the team in overcoming technical challenges effectively.
- Leverage the tech stack including React Native, Expo, REST APIs, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab/GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure Cloud to deliver robust applications.
