Founding Frontend Engineer
Hampton North is partnering with an early stage startup defining a new category of security for the AI era. As AI agents become the new operating system for enterprises, they're creating a massive, hidden security debt, and this company is building the industry's first true detection and response platform to control it, the EDR of agents.
Compensation: $180-220k base salary + Equity

As a Principal Frontend Engineer, you will own the frontend of the platform: its architecture, its patterns, and its quality bar. You will build the data-heavy interfaces at the center of the product, from visualizing AI agent behavior to investigating detections across inventory, threat modeling, and detection and response, and keep them fast and accurate as tenants grow from tens to thousands of monitored users.
What you'll be doing:
- Own the frontend architecture and evolve it as data volume, feature complexity, and the size of the team grow
- Design, build, and ship customer-facing features end-to-end, from development through production
- Define data models and GraphQL contracts with other product engineers early, so both sides can build in parallel
- Build data-heavy interfaces with search, filtering, pagination, and visualization that stay responsive at the large-customer end of scale
- Present data accurately even when it is stale, incomplete, or arriving through partial failures
- Set the frontend patterns, review standards, and testing bar that other engineers work to
- Support the platform as critical issues arise: diagnose, document root causes, and complete the follow-up work
And what you'll need to have:
- 7+ years of frontend engineering experience, with expert-level TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (strong preference for Vue)
- Experience with ML/AI systems, language models, security tooling, or threat detection
- Deep experience with frontend architecture, including component design, state management, and testing strategy
- Proven track record building complex, data-heavy interfaces at scale, including render and bundle performance
- Strong command of GraphQL clients and typed code generation, and shaping the schema alongside backend engineers
- Experience setting technical direction other engineers can follow, and owning features in production
