This role focuses on building high-quality Android SDKs and first-party mobile apps that enable enterprise customers to integrate mobile solutions seamlessly into their own applications. You will take ownership of the design, development, and maintenance of SDKs used by global hotel brands while ensuring a smooth developer experience. The position blends hands-on engineering with product-minded decision-making, requiring collaboration with Product, Design, Backend, and Customer teams. You will help shape APIs, deliver performant code at scale, and mentor other engineers to raise team standards. - Design, develop, and maintain Android SDKs that power guest and staff experiences for enterprise customers
- Build features and UI components for first-party mobile applications with a focus on performance and reliability
- Create a best-in-class developer experience with clear APIs, robust samples, comprehensive documentation, and smooth upgrade paths
- Collaborate with Product and Design teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver impactful features
- Work with Backend and Platform teams to define mobile-server contracts, monitoring, and observability standards
- Establish SDK versioning, release processes, and semantic change management practices
- Maintain code quality through testing, automation, and thoughtful architectural decisions
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive operational excellence including monitoring, logging, crash analytics, and on-call readiness
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building mobile applications or SDKs, with strong expertise in Android and Kotlin
- Proven track record designing, shipping, and supporting SDKs used by external developers
- Deep understanding of API design, modular architecture, semantic versioning, and backward-compatibility strategies
- Proficiency in Android fundamentals, including networking, concurrency, persistence, security, and performance optimization
- Experience with build systems and package managers such as Gradle or Maven and familiarity with CI/CD tooling
- Strong quality mindset with experience in unit/UI testing, automation, crash analytics, and observability best practices
- Excellent written communication skills to produce clear documentation and integration samples
- Self-starter who thrives in ambiguous environments and partners closely with Product to deliver business impact
- Bonus: Experience with Swift/iOS, cross-platform frameworks (React Native, Flutter), backend development in Python, cloud services (AWS), and enterprise-scale release management
