We’re now looking for our Head of Engineering: someone who can define Luca’s overall technology strategy, but who’s also willing to get hands-on with the team and jump into the code when needed. If you’re the kind of leader who drives with vision and with commits, this role is for you.

🧠 What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

• Define and own Luca’s technology strategy, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability across all products.
• Make key architecture decisions that balance short-term speed with long-term sustainability.
• Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
• Code alongside the team when needed: unblocking critical issues, building features, and making things real.
• Integrate AI-driven technologies into the platform to enhance teacher, student, and parent experiences.
• Optimize processes and tools: CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, security, and code quality.
• Manage infrastructure and vendor relationships, always focused on performance and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance and data protection best practices, safeguarding user trust.
• Represent the tech function to leadership, the board, and external stakeholders.

🤝 You’ll Work Closely With

• Product leadership to translate educational needs into scalable technical solutions.
• Designers and pedagogy experts to deliver accessible and delightful experiences.
• Operations and Customer Experience teams to ensure platform stability and user satisfaction.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leading technical teams.
• Solid background in scalable cloud architectures (GCP/AWS/Azure) and distributed databases.
• Deep knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, React/React Native, and GraphQL (our core stack).
• Strong experience with infrastructure, DevOps, CI/CD, and monitoring systems.
• Proven ability to lead distributed teams, but also the first to open a PR when necessary.
• Balance of strategic vision and hands-on technical execution.
• Strong product and user experience intuition (not just “what works,” but “what creates value”).
• Bonus: experience in EdTech, gaming/gamification, or B2B SaaS platforms.
