About the Company
Nuaav is a boutique consulting firm that positions itself as a strategic partner for corporate leaders, focusing on delivering real business results and driving impactful change in complex and rapidly evolving business environments. Unlike large-scale consulting firms, Nuaav brings the boutique advantage — specialized expertise, personalized attention, agility, and tailored solutions — ensuring higher service quality and true alignment with client needs.
Our core service areas include:
- Product Engineering — end-to-end product lifecycle development with emphasis on innovation, reliability, scalable DevOps practices, and integration of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT and Blockchain.
- Data Systems — enterprise-scale data architecture, integration, governance, real-time processing, and big data solutions.
- AI and Machine Learning — predictive analytics, automation, and intelligence solutions to optimize strategy, performance and customer engagement.
- User Experience — intuitive, research-driven design solutions to enhance customer experience and retention.
About the Role
We are looking for an engineer who works at the intersection of AI and complex front-end engineering. You will design and build rich, interactive interfaces — map-based polygon and shape editing, geometry annotation, real-time visualization — and wire them directly into AI and ML backends and inference pipelines. This is a hands-on role. You will be equally comfortable reasoning about model output and crafting a smooth, performant drawing surface. You will not just consume an API; you will help shape how AI capabilities surface in the product and how people interact with them.
Responsibilities
- Design and build complex, interactive UIs — polygon and shape drawing and editing, multi-layer canvases, draggable vertices, zoom and pan, hit-testing, and real-time overlays.
- Integrate front-end experiences with AI and ML backends: inference endpoints, model serving, streaming responses, long-running jobs, and data pipelines.
- Translate model output — estimates, segments, confidence, predictions, detections — into intuitive, responsive visual interfaces that a non-technical user can act on.
- Own features end to end, from UX prototyping through API and data-contract design with backend teams to production deployment.
- Optimise rendering performance for large datasets and high-frequency interaction (Canvas, SVG, WebGL).
- Write clean, tested, maintainable code. Jest and React Testing Library suites are CI gates on this project, not documentation.
- Use Cursor and MCP as part of daily development, and help shape how the team applies AI-assisted engineering to real delivery.
- Collaborate with ML engineers and product on what is feasible, what is fast, and what feels good to use.
- Contribute to architecture decisions and to the data contracts between the interface and the services behind it.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of professional software engineering experience, with strong depth in modern front-end development.
Required Skills
- React — production depth. Component architecture, hooks, state management, and performance in a complex single-page application.
- JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 — including the HTML5 Canvas API, and responsive, portable styling that survives being lifted into another application.
- React Testing Library and Jest — component and hook tests you would expect to block a merge, not tests written after the fact.
- Node.js — build tooling, dev servers, mock harnesses that unblock parallel front-end and backend work, and MCP server work.
- Cursor — daily AI-assisted development. Your workflow will be discussed and reviewed alongside your code.
- MCP (Model Context Protocol) — connecting AI models and agents to external tools and data sources.
- Ability to reason about coordinate systems and rendering performance — the difference between where a shape is stored and where it is painted, why a click tolerance behaves differently at different zoom levels, and what to do when a canvas starts to stutter. Prior experience with a specific graphics library is welcome but not required; this reasoning is.
- Solid grasp of AI and ML concepts, with hands-on experience integrating against model or inference APIs — LLMs, computer vision, or similar.
- Comfort working across the stack — consuming and helping design REST and WebSocket APIs, and reasoning about data contracts rather than accepting whatever arrives.
- Strong eye for UX, performance and detail in interactive applications.
- Excellent written communication and the ability to work autonomously in a remote, distributed team.
Preferred Skills
- TypeScript — this project is data-contract heavy, so typing carries real weight even though it is not a gate.
- MapLibre GL, Mapbox GL or deck.gl, or any interactive graphics library — Konva, Fabric.js, PixiJS, D3 — including polygon or geometry editing.
- Next.js and server-side rendering.
- API design experience — OpenAPI or AsyncAPI schemas, versioned contracts, and contract testing.
- GIS and mapping, computer vision tooling, data annotation and labelling platforms, or CAD-style interfaces.
- The Figma MCP server and design-to-code workflows — pulling design tokens, components and layout data from Figma to drive AI-assisted UI generation and keep code in sync with design.
- Real-time and streaming UIs, and state management for collaborative editing.
- Python with FastAPI — typed async REST APIs, Pydantic validation, and serving inference endpoints.
- Prompt engineering, model fine-tuning, or building agentic and LLM-powered features.
- Cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred) and CI/CD.
