Product Offering: Covering five proven product areas - learning, fleet operations, compliance, voyage planning and performance management - supporting its customers from ship to shore, from training and people operations, to voyage compliance and optimisation. 🧭 Navigating the position: Senior Mobile Engineer (React Native & Frontend) We have a proven concept and a solid foundation, now, we need a seasoned Senior Mobile Engineer to take our React Native proof-of-concept and evolve it into a polished, production-ready application. You won’t just be writing code; you’ll be the architect of our mobile user experience. We are looking for a "Product Engineer"—someone who cares as much about the user experience and the UI storyboard as they do about clean, scalable architecture. You should have deep hands-on experience shipping commercial apps in both stores (App Store / Google Play), and comfort working in both native and cross-platform environments. Key Responsibilities As our first dedicated Senior Mobile hire, you will bridge the gap between design and engineering. You will:

• Ship to Production: Take full ownership of the lifecycle for both iOS and Android platforms.
• Elevate the Frontend: Use your expert knowledge of React Native and CSS-in-JS to build beautiful, responsive, and accessible interfaces.
• Architect for Growth: Introduce best practices, coding standards, and design patterns that will allow us to scale the team and the codebase.
• Automate Everything: Maintain and improve our CI/CD pipelines within Azure DevOps to ensure seamless, automated deployments.
• Collaborate: Work within a loose Agile/Sprint framework, contributing to storyboarding, and regular sprint planning meetings.
• Code Quality: Ensuring high code quality through unit/UI testing, code reviews, and static analysis tools.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise You are a senior-level developer who is "hands-on" by nature, you don't want to sit in architectural meetings all day; you want to build great products.

• React Native Expert: You have a track record of shipping production-grade apps and understand the nuances of the bridge, native modules, and performance tuning.
• Design-Led: You have a keen eye for UX/UI. You understand storyboards and can realise Figma designs into production-ready components.
• Tooling Savvy: You are comfortable with Azure DevOps, including managing pipelines, boards, and releases.
• Pragmatic Mentor: You enjoy helping others. You’re happy to peer-review code and set the standard for future junior developers.
• Agile Mindset: You’re comfortable with the iterative nature of a growing product and can thrive in a sprint-based environment.

Must-Have Technical Stack

• Experience: Multiple years of commercial experience building and shipping production mobile applications.
• Core: React Native (iOS & Android), TypeScript.
• State & Styling: Your preferred modern styling stack.
• DevOps: Azure DevOps (Pipelines & Boards).
• Testing: Jest, React Native Testing Library.
• Performance: Familiarity with performance profiling tools.
• Security: Implementation of offline support, secure storage (Keychain / Keystore), biometric auth, and encryption.

Valued Technical Stack

• Complexity: Previous work on high-traffic / consumer-facing apps or apps with complex business logic.
• Comms: Exposure to REST structured application interfaces, and real-time features (WebSockets, push notifications, etc).
• Accessibility: Internationalisation, theming, and adaptive layouts.
• Mentoring: Experience mentoring or leading small mobile teams / features.
