About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small software agency that builds the tools teams actually use. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that people usually try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get their different software tools to finally talk to one another. We have a simple approach. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything when we are finished. This includes the code, the documentation, and even walkthrough videos. We are a senior team of developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends. As a fully remote company, we value clear communication and getting things done without unnecessary drama.
The Role
As a Graduate Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for the parts of our software that users interact with. You will spend your time building tables, forms, and navigation systems that make sense to the people using them. The work is not about making things look pretty for a portfolio: it is about making sure a warehouse manager or an operations lead can find the information they need without getting frustrated. You will be moving data from our APIs into the browser and ensuring the user interface stays in sync with the backend. Since this is an entry level role, you will work closely with our more experienced team members. They will help you understand how to structure your code so it is easy to maintain and how to handle edge cases that come up in real world usage. The position is paid, and the pay is competitive for the market and your experience level.
What You Bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and enjoys the process of building things that work correctly. You do not need years of professional experience, but you should have a solid understanding of how the web works. We value clarity over cleverness, so we look for developers who write code that is easy for others to read. You should be comfortable asking questions when you are stuck and explaining your thought process to the rest of the team. Being okay with work that is not flashy is important here. We take pride in building stable, reliable tools, and we want someone who feels the same way. Since we are a remote team, you need to be able to manage your own time and communicate clearly in writing.
- A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- The ability to break down a layout into reusable components.
- A focus on building interfaces that are easy for non-technical people to navigate.
- A preference for simple solutions over complex ones.
- The ability to follow existing code patterns and style guides.
- An interest in learning how business logic translates into user interfaces.
- A reliable internet connection and a quiet place to work.
While this is an entry level role, there are a few tools we use every day that would be helpful for you to know. We do not expect mastery, but basic familiarity with these will help you get started more quickly. We primarily use React for our frontend work, so knowing how components and state work is a big plus. We also use Node and Postgres for our backends, so understanding how a frontend communicates with an API is very useful. We manage all of our work through GitHub, so knowing how to open a pull request and respond to code reviews is important. If you have worked on your own projects or have a portfolio of simple tools you have built for fun or for school, that is a great way to show us what you can do.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is different from a typical corporate job. We are a small, flat team, which means there are no layers of middle management between you and the work. When we build something, we ship it quickly and show it to the client for feedback. You will see your code being used by real people almost immediately. We value honesty and pragmatism. If a project is behind or a technical approach is not working, we talk about it openly so we can fix it. Because we are a fully remote company, you have the flexibility to work from wherever you feel most comfortable, provided you can stay connected with the team. We believe in doing good work during work hours and then signing off to live our lives. We provide the support you need to grow your skills while giving you the space to actually do the work.
At Pixel Systems, we believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. We focus on building software that is stable and easy to maintain because we want our clients to be successful long after our contract is over. If you enjoy the challenge of making complex systems simple and want to work with a team that values practical results over hype, you will find a good home here. We are looking for someone who wants to learn the right way to build software from the ground up.
