Lead Software Engineer (Remote)

2. About the Opportunity:

The Lead Software Engineer role is designed to oversee and execute high-impact software development projects. This position is responsible for leading technology solutions that meet client needs, mentoring team members, and ensuring project success from discovery through production. The role involves collaboration with clients and internal teams to deliver maintainable, high-quality software, balancing technical and product considerations.

3. Responsibilities:

• Lead software development engagements from discovery to deployment

• Build maintainable software collaboratively and incrementally

• Write production-quality code using various languages and frameworks

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for coding tasks

• Integrate AI/ML features such as recommendation engines and NLP models

• Apply automated testing to guide design and quality assurance

• Debug and refactor existing codebases

• Use Git, MacOS/Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines

• Address architecture concerns including scalability, security, reliability, and performance

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and idea sharing

• Provide strategic direction amid ambiguity

• Mentor colleagues and foster knowledge sharing

• Conduct and participate in feedback sessions

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders

• Balance technical and user/product needs collaboratively

• Contribute to team and organizational culture

• Maintain prioritized and estimated backlogs

• Manage project roadmaps and client relationships

• Monitor project risks and propose solutions

• Remove blockers to team progress

• Support organizational growth through mentoring, workshops, community representation, and hiring processes

4. Requirements:

• 7+ years of successful software project leadership

• Experience with multiple programming languages including Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Ruby, Scala, R, SQL, and Go

• Knowledge of AI/ML application development and MLOps

• Familiarity with data engineering platforms like Databricks

• Experience with DevSecOps and DevOps practices

• Skills in infrastructure as code

• Ability to lead complex projects and teams
