About the Opportunity:
An established educational software organization seeks a Senior Engineer to lead UI and accessibility initiatives, shaping the user experience of front-end products. The role requires expertise in React and familiarity with Microsoft technologies to support an evolving tech stack.
Responsibilities:
⢠Lead design, development, and maintenance of complex front-end applications using React.
⢠Collaborate with design and product teams to convert wireframes and designs into code.
⢠Mentor developers to promote sustainable and scalable React adoption.
⢠Develop reusable UI components and front-end libraries.
⢠Optimize application performance for speed and scalability.
⢠Manage and uphold UI and accessibility standards.
⢠Ensure accessibility compliance throughout development.
⢠Guide junior developers in best practices and coding standards.
⢠Collaborate with back-end developers on integration with .NET and C# services.
⢠Keep current with front-end technologies and industry trends.
Requirements:
⢠Bachelorâs degree in computer science or related field.
⢠Over 10 years of software engineering experience with increasing project complexity.
⢠At least 5 years in front-end development focused on React.
⢠Proven leadership in UI and accessibility initiatives.
⢠Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
⢠Experience with state management libraries such as Redux or Context API.
⢠Strong knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and responsive design.
⢠Experience with testing frameworks like Jest and Enzyme.
⢠Familiarity with Microsoft technologies (.NET, C#) is a plus.
⢠Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
⢠Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
⢠Experience with accessibility testing tools and standards (WCAG, ARIA).
⢠Contributions to open-source React projects.
⢠Experience with Agile development methodologies.
⢠Experience leveraging AI tools in development (e.g., Claude Code, Github Copilot).
Compensation:
⢠Salary range estimated between $140,000 and $160,000, factoring in skills, experience, and certifications.
