About The Role
Motional is seeking an experienced Staff Front End Engineer to join its Web Visualization Tooling team. This role is critical in developing and maintaining advanced web tooling and visualization systems that enhance feedback loops for machine learning engineers and improve the performance and adaptability of autonomous vehicle systems. The successful candidate will lead efforts to set standards and best practices for web development across teams, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects. They will architect and scale a modern frontend ecosystem utilizing React, TypeScript, and Vue, collaborating closely with ML, UX, data services, and other cross-functional teams to align tooling with real-world workflows. The role involves designing mission-critical user interfaces for complex, data-heavy workflows, emphasizing performance, scalability, and maintainability. The engineer will operate with high ownership, driving initiatives independently while mentoring junior team members and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. This position offers flexibility with a hybrid schedule or fully remote work, supporting collaboration and individual productivity.
