About The Role Motional is seeking a highly skilled Staff Front End Engineer to join its Web Visualization Tooling team. This pivotal role involves designing, developing, and maintaining advanced web tooling and visualization systems that enhance feedback loops for machine learning engineers and optimize the performance and adaptability of our autonomous vehicle systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for creating user-centric visual applications and a deep understanding of modern frontend technologies. You will lead cross-team initiatives, establish best practices, and build mission-critical UI systems that support complex, data-heavy workflows. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on innovative projects that directly impact the development and deployment of autonomous vehicle technology, contributing to a safer and more efficient transportation ecosystem. Qualifications

• Proficiency in React, TypeScript, and modern frontend architecture
• Experience with Vue.js
• Strong understanding of UX design principles and usability

• Experience in designing scalable and maintainable frontend systems

Responsibilities

• Drive the establishment of cross-team standards and best practices for web development
• Lead collaboration efforts to ensure timely and effective project delivery
• Architect and scale a modern frontend ecosystem utilizing React, TypeScript, and Vue
• Collaborate closely with ML, UX, data services, and annotation teams to align tooling with real-world workflows
• Build and maintain mission-critical UI systems used by internal stakeholders
• Design intuitive experiences for complex, data-intensive workflows
• Implement performance optimization, scalability, and maintainability best practices
• Ship features rapidly and iterate based on user feedback in a product-driven environment
• Mentor junior engineers and delegate tasks as needed to foster team growth
