About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled JavaScript Developer to join our team remotely from any eligible U.S. jurisdiction. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring applications supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in JavaScript and related technologies, with experience in designing robust, efficient, and scalable applications. Your expertise will contribute to building high-impact solutions that serve our nation's veterans and support federal agency objectives. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and project managers to ensure seamless deployment and operation of applications. The position offers an opportunity to work on innovative projects in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to federal standards and security protocols.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of professional JavaScript development experience
- Proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript programming languages
- Strong knowledge of React 18 framework
- Experience with source control tools, especially GitHub
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience configuring and managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Harness, Nexus, SonarQube, or HashiCorp Vault
- Knowledge of containerization, including Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with RESTful API development and third-party integrations
- Ability to support and work within Agile development methodologies
- Experience supporting federal agencies and understanding of federal security requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and client collaboration abilities
- Preferred: Experience in healthcare environments
- U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency with at least 3 years of residence in the U.S.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Civilian Public Trust security clearance
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient and reliable JavaScript applications using React 18
- Support and enhance applications with TypeScript, ensuring code quality and performance
- Deploy applications using Docker containers and manage them with Kubernetes
- Build, test, and promote container images within GOLD image promotion pipelines
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs with third-party services
- Collaborate in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment and testing
- Conduct code reviews, identify, and resolve defects to ensure high-quality deliverables
- Monitor system health and performance metrics using Prometheus and Grafana dashboards
- Participate in Agile development cycles, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of code, processes, and system configurations
- Work effectively with team members, clients, and stakeholders to meet project objectives
