Role Overview
We’re seeking a Design-led Front-End Engineer with strong design skills to join our expanding team. We are looking for someone who can own the visual and user experience side of our projects; someone who thinks about design first and has the technical abilities to bring those ideas to life. You will collaborate closely with our founders—both software engineers—and contribute to various client projects and internal initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & User Experience: Create wireframes, mockups and prototypes in Figma; make design decisions that balance aesthetics with usability and business goals.
- Interface Design: Design polished, modern interfaces with attention to typography, colour, spacing and visual hierarchy. Define and evolve visual language and interaction patterns.
- Component Architecture: Design and build reusable component libraries and design systems.
- Front-End Development: Build performant, scalable front-end applications using React, NextJS, Typescript, HTML, and CSS to translate designs into robust, production-ready applications.
- Collaboration: Engage with clients to gather requirements, present concepts, gather feedback and iterate
- Quality & Best Practices: Ensure accessibility, browser compatibility and optimal performance writing clean and maintainable code.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial Front-End development experience.
- Strong experience with Javascript, React, Typescript, and functional programming patterns.
- Experience working with Figma and a strong eye for design, typography, colour and layout.
- Portfolio required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience in professional services / agency experience.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with animations
- Understanding of design systems and component libraries
