About the Role
Lumen is seeking a Lead Software Developer to help modernize and scale lumen.com using Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service (AEMaaCS).
This role combines Full Stack Software Development, cloud-native technologies, modern frontend frameworks, and AI-assisted engineering practices. The Lead Software Developer will work closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to build scalable digital experiences, improve platform capabilities, and increase software development efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Adobe Experience Manager, React, Vue.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and modern software engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and support scalable digital experiences using Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service.
- Build modern frontend applications using technologies such as React, Vue.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Develop and integrate APIs, services, and enterprise applications.
- Design scalable solutions using modern cloud-native architectures.
- Champion AI-assisted software engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
- Use AI-powered development tools to improve coding, architecture, testing, troubleshooting, code reviews, documentation, and delivery workflows.
- Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to increase developer productivity and accelerate software delivery.
- Develop solutions that improve customer experiences while reducing operational complexity.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams throughout solution design and implementation.
- Deliver secure, scalable, accessible, maintainable, and high-performing applications.
- Support modernization initiatives involving migration from legacy applications to composable and cloud-based architectures.
- Promote engineering excellence through strong coding standards and development best practices.
- Implement and improve automated testing practices.
- Support observability, monitoring, troubleshooting, and application reliability.
- Optimize application performance and maintainability.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across engineering processes and platforms.
- Collaborate effectively with globally distributed Agile teams.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Full Stack Software Development.
- 4+ years of experience working with Adobe Experience Manager.
- Strong experience with React.
- Strong experience with Vue.js.
- Strong knowledge of JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Experience developing and integrating APIs.
- Experience with modern web development technologies.
- Experience designing scalable applications.
- Experience working with cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with software engineering best practices.
- Strong understanding of application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Experience collaborating with distributed or global engineering teams.
- Experience with CI/CD practices.
- Experience with DevOps methodologies and tooling.
- Experience working with modern cloud platforms.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale websites or digital experience platforms.

Compensation
The anticipated base salary varies by work location.
For Washington and the following states or jurisdictions, the anticipated base salary range is:
$116,364 – $155,152 annually
This range applies to:
AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
Additional location-based salary ranges provided by Lumen include:
$105,786 – $141,047 annually for AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$111,074 – $148,099 annually for CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
Individual compensation is determined based on location, skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
