Lead Software Engineer | Remote (UK) | Up to £110,000
I'm working with a SaaS business that is growing its engineering function and looking for a Lead Software Engineer to guide the build of its core product.
What you'll do:
- Lead and coach engineers while still writing code
- Help decide how the product is designed and built
- Deliver features from front end to back end
- Connect the product with external services through APIs
- Improve how code gets tested and released
- Use AI coding tools as part of your daily work, with the chance to add AI capabilities to the product
- Raise the bar on code quality
- Partner with the product and UX teams to make sure what gets built works for customers
What you'll bring:
- Experience leading or mentoring engineers
- 5+ years' experience with Node/TypeScript plus Go
- Solid experience with MySQL (similar relational databases considered)
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor or GitHub Copilot in your daily work, the judgement to know when their output needs a closer look, and the confidence to help other engineers get the most from them
- Hands-on experience deploying to a cloud platform and managing infrastructure with Terraform
- Experience running applications in containers using Docker or Kubernetes
