Full-Stack Software Developer

THE JOB

VerifyYou is building infrastructure that keeps the internet human. Co-founded by Reddit’s former CTO, Marty Weiner, we’re focused on solving identity online and enabling platforms to stop bots and fake accounts.

We’re hiring a full-stack engineer (backend-leaning, 2-5+ years) to help architect and scale the systems behind our verification layer, with a strong focus on ML-driven signal pipelines and production data systems.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Design and evolve signal pipelines that distinguish real human participation from automation, including liveness, uniqueness, and behavioral authenticity. Build modular detection systems tuned to specific threat classes such as replay attacks, synthetic identity farms, and coordinated abuse.

• Build and scale Python-based services that power our verification engine. Architect privacy-preserving data flows, event-driven ingestion pipelines, and storage systems that handle sensitive biometric and behavioral data responsibly.

• Develop internal evaluation frameworks to measure false positives and false negatives, test bypass resistance, and support continuous red-team iteration against evolving attack patterns.

• Deploy and operate services on GCP with strong observability, reliability, and security practices as we scale toward compliance and platform-grade resilience.

OUR STACK

Backend: Python (Flask, FastAPI)

Data & Storage: Firestore, event-driven pipelines (Pub/Sub)

Infrastructure: GCP, containerized services

Frontend: React + TypeScript

Mobile: React Native, some Swift/Kotlin

Signal & ML Systems: training data management, Milvus vector stores, model integration, evaluation, and performance monitoring

REQUIREMENTS

• 2–5+ years of professional software development experience.

• Proficiency in at least one backend language (we use Python) with a solid understanding of REST/gRPC APIs, database design, authentication, and authorization patterns.

• Experience with relational databases, including data modeling, migrations, and query optimization.

• Working knowledge of frontend frameworks (React, TypeScript, or similar) sufficient to contribute across the stack.

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, ideally GCP.

• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, system design, and networking basics.

• Hands-on exposure to data pipelines, ML model integration, or model evaluation in production systems, including training workflows, feature stores, monitoring, or experimentation frameworks.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with identity, authentication, or security-focused systems.

• Familiarity with biometric verification, face recognition, or liveness detection technologies.

• Experience supporting ML systems in production, including data pipelines, feature engineering workflows, model deployment hooks, or performance monitoring.

• Background in privacy-preserving architectures or cryptographic protocols.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling.

• Some web or mobile frontend development experience.

WHY VERIFYYOU
