Job Description

Volunteer for a startup building the data infrastructure to save our soil and water! 🚜🌱EcoVerum unifies fragmented agricultural data into verified intelligence that rewards regenerative farming and enables truly sustainable supply chains.
Ecosystems that took millennia to develop are being degraded in decades, with 85% of native species in the Netherlands already gone. Industrial agriculture is the primary driver, yet farmers are trapped in a system where regenerative transition is risky and unsupported. This stems from a critical "measurement gap": without real-time, verified data, finance cannot flow to sustainable projects, regulators cannot verify environmental claims, and food brands are forced into accidental "greenwashing." Currently, the system financially penalizes farmers doing the right thing because their positive impact remains invisible to the market.
EcoVerum closes this gap with a decision intelligence platform that transforms siloed data—from soil labs and satellites to real-time field sensors—into a single, verified source of truth. Our solution utilizes two unique interfaces: H.A.R.R.Y., a WhatsApp-based AI assistant that gives farmers real-time advice on nitrogen risk and soil health, and S.A.L.L.Y., an analytics engine that converts that same farm data into auditable, CSRD-compliant reports for boardrooms and regulators. By bridging the distance between the field and the boardroom, we turn regenerative performance into a verified financial asset. This ensures that capital, policy, and markets finally reward the farmers who are restoring our biodiversity and protecting our water systems.
Role (Volunteer, unpaid): Full Stack DeveloperRole Description: As EcoVerum's Full Stack Developer, you will play a central role in building our decision intelligence platform from the ground up. You will work across the full stack to turn verified regenerative field data into actionable farm intelligence — connecting soil, water and biodiversity data to real farm decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python and FastAPI
- Develop frontend interfaces using React, ensuring a clean and intuitive user experience for farmers, cooperatives and enterprise partners
- Design and manage spatial and relational databases using PostgreSQL and PostGIS
- Build scalable server-side architecture using TypeScript and NestJS
- Containerise and orchestrate services using Docker and Docker Compose
- Write and maintain bash scripts for automation and deployment tasks
- Collaborate closely with the product and data teams to ship a robust MVP
- Ensure platform performance and reliability as we scale across 300+ farms and enterprise integrations
You bring:
- Solid experience across the full stack — Python, TypeScript, React and SQL
- Comfort working with geospatial data (PostGIS experience is a strong plus)
- A pragmatic, MVP-first mindset with an eye for scalability
- A genuine connection to EcoVerum's mission to restore biodiversity from farm to fork
Time Commitment: Volunteer 7-9 hours per week for 6+ months remotely 💻If you want to make change happen, apply to volunteer with EcoVerum now!
