About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Fullstack Engineer to join our International Engineering team. This role is pivotal in expanding Whatnot’s presence beyond the US into key international markets such as the UK, France, Germany, Australia, and more. The successful candidate will be responsible for elevating the international user experience across our entire product suite. As a core team member, you will work across the full technology stack and product lifecycle to address targeted user challenges, develop innovative features, and facilitate international growth. You will lead end-to-end solutions, translating ambiguous business needs into clear, actionable technical strategies. Your role will involve balancing rapid development with product impact and technical excellence through creative problem-solving and experimentation. Flexibility is offered to work remotely or from one of our global office hubs, with a preference for candidates residing within commuting distance of our New York hub. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence international expansion and deliver impactful solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of generalist software development experience, preferably in high-growth startup environments
• Proven experience building end-to-end high-scale product experiences as a full-stack engineer
• Backend expertise with Python and experience with Postgres databases is a plus
• Web development experience with React, GraphQL for API development, and modern frontend frameworks (exposure to Next.js is a plus)
• Strong product instincts with a user-centric approach to design and development
• Ability to mentor team members and foster an inclusive, supportive team environment
• Ownership mindset with the ability to manage projects from conception to deployment and beyond
• Track record of shipping features rapidly and efficiently
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to operate autonomously
• Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new technologies and tools
• Demonstrated success in delivering impactful features and solutions

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-quality full-stack applications to enhance international user experiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, prioritize, and implement features that support international growth
• Translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and solutions
• Lead technical initiatives end-to-end, ensuring timely delivery and high standards of quality
• Mentor junior team members and promote best practices in coding, testing, and deployment
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical planning sessions
• Continuously improve platform performance, reliability, and security for global users
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and incorporate them into development processes as appropriate
• Support internationalization efforts by ensuring product adaptability across different markets
• Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the engineering team
