Overview

A leading iGaming company based in Europe is seeking an experienced Head of Mobile Engineering to lead and scale its mobile development function. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for technical direction, team growth, and the long-term mobile strategy across iOS and Android platforms.

The successful candidate will manage a distributed team of eight mobile engineers and will play a critical role in centralising the company’s mobile applications into a React Native-first architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for the mobile engineering function
• Line-manage and mentor a team of approximately eight mobile engineers
• Lead the transition from a mixed native iOS, Android, and React Native setup to a fully centralised React Native codebase
• Define and execute the long-term mobile technology roadmap
• Drive best practices in mobile engineering, performance, security, and scalability
• Work closely with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver high-quality mobile experiences
• Recruit, grow, and develop high-performing mobile engineering teams
• Ensure delivery of mobile products in line with regulatory, compliance, and iGaming standards
• Own architectural decisions and contribute hands-on where required

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in a Head of Mobile, Mobile Engineering Manager, or similar senior leadership role
• Strong background in growing, scaling, and managing mobile engineering teams
• Deep technical expertise in React Native, with prior experience consolidating or migrating mobile platforms
• Solid understanding of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development
• Experience working within iGaming, gaming, fintech, or other high-scale consumer mobile environments
• Strong architectural, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Comfortable working in fully remote, distributed teams
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Nice to Have

• Prior experience leading long-term platform migrations
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications
• Experience working in regulated industries
