You will join an established technical delivery team working on modern digital applications in an enterprise-scale environment. About The Role

This is a UK remote contract position for a hands-on React Developer with active UK Security Check (SC) clearance. The initial contract runs until 31 March 2027, with the possibility of an extension. The role focuses on developing and enhancing responsive, reliable digital applications using React, JavaScript or TypeScript, and REST APIs.

You will work as part of a collaborative Agile team, partnering with developers, testers, product colleagues and other stakeholders to deliver quality software. The successful candidate will bring sound front-end engineering practices, experience with automated testing, and the ability to contribute effectively in a large-scale delivery setting. Experience with public sector or regulated projects is useful, while current, active UK SC clearance is essential.

Qualifications

Applicants should have strong commercial experience building applications with React, together with solid JavaScript and/or TypeScript skills. You should have practical experience integrating front-end applications with REST APIs and a good understanding of modern front-end development principles. Experience writing and maintaining automated tests, producing clean and maintainable code, and working within enterprise-scale development environments is required.

You should be comfortable working in Agile teams, communicating technical information clearly, and collaborating with colleagues across different disciplines. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement will help you contribute to the team’s delivery goals. Experience with government digital services, GDS standards, or other regulated environments is advantageous. Familiarity with Pega, Pega Constellation, React SDK, CI/CD pipelines, cloud technologies, or DevOps environments would also be beneficial.

Active UK SC Clearance is a mandatory requirement. Candidates who do not currently hold active UK SC clearance cannot be considered for this opportunity.

Responsibilities

Develop, test and enhance modern, responsive applications using React. Build robust, scalable and maintainable front-end solutions with JavaScript and TypeScript, and integrate them with REST APIs. Write clean, well-structured code and contribute to automated testing to support application quality and reliability.

Work closely with developers, testers, product teams and wider stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver agreed outcomes. Participate in technical discussions, share relevant expertise and contribute to development decisions. Follow established engineering standards, security requirements and delivery processes. Support Agile planning and delivery activities, communicate progress and technical considerations, and help identify opportunities to improve development practices and technical solutions.

Benefits

The contract offers a competitive day rate of £400–£500, is inside IR35, and is available on a UK remote basis. The initial engagement is scheduled to run through 31 March 2027, providing the potential for a long-term assignment, with a possible extension subject to programme requirements. You will have the opportunity to contribute your React expertise to a significant public sector transformation programme and work alongside an established technical delivery team. Contract continuation and working arrangements are subject to the terms agreed for the assignment.
