About Brainverse
Brainverse builds custom AI agent solutions for businesses, from small companies to enterprises near $1 billion in revenue. Some run on IP we own. Others are built from scratch for one client, such as an agent team that runs part of their operations inside their own environment.
We run our own company the same way: more than 100 agents work across our sales, marketing, delivery and engineering, inside a development environment we built ourselves, with shared memory, enforced guardrails, multi-model review and automated quality gates on every change. We have more to build than our team can ship. This role takes a large share of it.
The role
You build, you secure what you build, and you keep it running.
Almost all of our code is written by AI agents, and you are accountable for all of it: architecture, quality, security and production behavior. Your job is to direct them well: set up the work so agents get it right, challenge their output with other models, cut what isn't needed, prove it works, and keep the system clean as it grows. You understand a full stack system from the database to the interface to the deployment, well enough to make the calls the agents can't.
A Technical Project Manager runs each client project and hands you clear requirements. You own the build, and you join client conversations when technical questions come up.
What you'll do
Build for clients:
- Build and ship client solutions: agent teams, web apps, APIs, data pipelines, document processing, and integrations with the client's existing systems.
- Take over the build of products already in production, including client web apps, a document extraction engine, and an estimating engine that reads construction drawings.
- Extend the engine that provisions a new client's agent team, so each new team comes out complete without hand cleanup.
- Deploy into client environments of every kind: Azure, AWS, Google Cloud and on-premises, each with its own identity, single sign-on and security rules.
Secure and harden everything
- Own credentials and secrets: an inventory of every key, a rotation schedule, and rotations that actually happen.
- Watch for security advisories, assess them, and patch every affected system we manage, ours and our clients'.
- Run security evaluations and hardening on every app before and after it ships: authentication, authorization, audit logging, data separation between clients, and dependency checks.
- Build monitoring, health checks, backups and tested restores, so problems surface before a client finds them.
- Answer the technical half of client security reviews.
Build for Brainverse
- Extend our platform: the agent harness, the skills and workflows our agents run, our dashboards, and the tooling that provisions and updates client solutions.
- Turn any task done by hand more than twice into something our agents do.
Keep it clean and proven
- Own the architecture on your projects and write the decisions down.
- Use several models to review, challenge and simplify code. When less code does the same job, that's the version we ship.
- Write tests that prove behavior, including the case that must fail. A bug fix starts with a test that reproduces it.
- A change is done when it's merged, deployed and verified where the user sees it.
Not part of this role
- Sales, marketing, legal or company strategy.
- Client project management. The Technical Project Manager owns the plan, the schedule and the weekly client sync.
What we're looking for
Must have:
- 5 or more years building and shipping full stack software to production. A degree is welcome and not required; we care about what you've shipped.
- Strong in TypeScript and Node.js, React and Next.js, Python (FastAPI, Pydantic), and SQL on Postgres, including schema design and migrations.
- You understand system architecture: how data, APIs, auth, background jobs and the front end fit together, and where they break.
- You've deployed and run production systems with Docker and CI/CD on at least one major cloud, and you're comfortable working inside someone else's environment and security rules.
- Security is part of how you build: secrets management, least privilege, authentication and authorization, the OWASP Top 10, and fast, complete response to a security advisory.
- You build with AI coding agents every day, such as Claude Code, Codex or Cursor, and can show real work you shipped that way. You know how to give an agent the right context, when to stop it, and how to prove its work with tests, review by other models, and reading the code that matters.
- You pick up a new development environment fast.
- You explain technical decisions clearly to a non-technical client and in writing to the team, in fluent English.
- You want a fast, demanding startup pace. Hours aren't fixed. Communication seven days a week is expected; working seven days a week is not.
- A portfolio of shipped work (repositories, live apps or demos, including work built with AI coding agents).
Nice to have:
- Azure in depth, especially Entra ID single sign-on and app roles, and Azure AI Foundry.
- Supabase, Vercel, Railway, GitHub Actions.
- LLM APIs, the Model Context Protocol (MCP), multi-agent systems, retrieval and memory systems.
- PDF and document extraction, or computer vision on drawings and scanned documents (PyMuPDF, OpenCV).
- Security work where mistakes cost real money: fintech, crypto or regulated industries.
- Background in construction, mechanical or electrical contracting, or construction software.
What success looks like
- 30 days: You've shipped changes to production and know how our agent harness works, how a client solution is provisioned, and how updates reach clients.
- 60 days: You lead the build on at least one client project, and every credential we hold is inventoried with a rotation date.
- 90 days: You own client builds end to end, security advisories get assessed and patched without leadership chasing them, and at least one part of our codebase is simpler than you found it.
How we hire
- Intro call. 30 minutes on your background and what you want next.
- Working session. Four hours, timed, on your own schedule, with your own AI tools. You see the task when the clock starts. Everything you build goes in a repository we provide, and nothing after the four hours counts.
- Walkthrough call with our CEO. You present what you built, how you approached it, and how you know it works.
- Reference checks.
You don't send references when you apply. We'll ask for them before the reference checks.
