Senior Frontend Software Engineer (Applied AI)

This company is a global software engineering and technology services business, partnering with large enterprises to build the platforms their people rely on every day. This role sits within an Applied AI team building internal tools for employees across IT, HR, Finance, Sales and Customer Support, bringing language models and intelligent automation directly into everyday workflows.
About the role
This is a hands-on tech lead role, not a people management position, with around 60 to 70% of your time spent writing code. You will build the user interfaces and shared client libraries that connect web applications to backend AI services, shaping how conversational and AI-driven experiences look and feel across the organisation. The role leans frontend, with some Python on the backend, and you will work your own US time zone.
Key responsibilities
- Build client-side interfaces and application layers that connect web apps to backend AI services
- Create responsive React and TypeScript views that handle streaming responses over SSE and WebSockets with low latency
- Maintain a library of shared components, hooks and design patterns for internal AI applications
- Integrate LLM workflows using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or LlamaIndex with leading model providers
- Work with product managers and designers to test and refine conversational UI patterns, prompt builders and feedback inputs
- Keep applications accessible (WCAG 2.1 AA), monitored and covered by automated tests
Ideal profile
- 5+ years of production experience building web applications with React and TypeScript
- 5 to 8 years of software development experience across frontend interfaces, client SDKs and REST APIs
- 1+ year of experience integrating GenAI features, LLM APIs and prompt UI patterns, or the Claude Certified Architect: Foundations (CCAR-F) certification
- Hands-on experience building, documenting and maintaining reusable component libraries, design systems and custom hooks
Preferred qualifications
- Working knowledge of Python for backend scripting, service integration or light API maintenance
- Real-time streaming UI patterns using SSE or WebSockets, including citation rendering and summary cards
- Knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA and accessible component design
- Experience with LangChain for JavaScript, LangGraph, LlamaIndex or similar orchestration frameworks
- Familiarity with RAG, vector search (OpenSearch, Pinecone) and embeddings
- Experience with AI evaluation tools, guardrails and user feedback mechanisms
