Mobile App Developer
Remote (At least 4 hours overlap with US Eastern time)
12 month Contract Role
We are looking for an independent Mobile App Developer to build, maintain, and ship the SMG mobile applications for iOS and Android. The role involves working with our shared front-office API and design system to deliver a consistent, reliable experience across web and mobile platforms.
The ideal candidate can manage the mobile development lifecycle end to end, from implementation and testing through app store releases and ongoing maintenance.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain iOS and Android applications using React Native, React, and TypeScript.
- Integrate with shared APIs and reuse existing design system components where appropriate.
- Own app builds, testing, releases, and publishing to the Apple App Store and Google Play.
- Implement push notifications, offline handling, and reliable network error recovery.
- Ensure mobile applications meet accessibility, performance, and usability standards.
- Follow secure development practices and COPPA-aware data handling requirements.
- Troubleshoot issues, maintain code quality, and work independently to deliver features.
Qualifications:
- Experience building and shipping mobile apps for iOS and Android.
- Strong knowledge of React Native, React, and TypeScript.
- Experience with API integration, mobile build processes, and app store publishing.
- Familiarity with push notifications, offline functionality, and mobile accessibility.
- Understanding of privacy and secure data handling practices.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate remotely with at least four hours of overlap with U.S. Eastern Time.
