About The Role
SMX is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer – Front End Web Applications to contribute to the design, development, support, and implementation of the Budget and Spend (BAS) solution. This role involves working with some of the most influential agencies globally, developing interactive web applications on the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) platform. The position is remote and supports a Washington, DC-based customer, requiring a Public Trust clearance. The successful candidate will be responsible for building enterprise planning and reporting applications, enhancing existing features, and ensuring the scalability and performance of web applications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Development, or a related field, or equivalent job experience
- Minimum of 2 years of software engineering experience with front-end web technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS
- Strong understanding of JavaScript and its intricacies
- Knowledge of REST APIs, including experience creating and consuming APIs and handling data formats such as XML and JSON
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming/Design, web development, and debugging
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Strong programming skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- U.S. citizenship required to maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)
- Experience working with Federal, State, Local, or Higher Education organizations
- Familiarity with standard Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), lean, and agile methodologies
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise planning and reporting applications using SAP Analytics Cloud or other web technologies
- Review application requirements and interface designs to ensure technical feasibility
- Develop and implement highly interactive UI/UX components that enhance user experience
- Monitor front-end performance and optimize applications for scalability and speed
- Document application changes and develop updates to maintain system integrity
- Provide feedback on UI/UX designs and collaborate with team members to improve solutions
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
