About the Opportunity:
The SOFTWARE ENGINEER role involves rebuilding and enhancing the company’s web platform to improve customer acquisition, subscription management, and e-commerce experiences. The position requires collaboration within a cross-functional team to deliver reliable, high-performance features and establish a robust technical foundation. The role significantly contributes to the platform’s scalability, usability, and growth by addressing core customer journeys and operational efficiencies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain features across microservice backends, client platforms, e-commerce, and subscription systems.
- Design and implement reusable, reliable, and high-performance code in various programming environments.
- Establish and support web platform foundations including rendering, caching, CDN management, API patterns, CI/CD, observability, and legacy system decommissioning.
- Create reusable page templates, content models, and CMS integrations to support marketing and content teams.
- Collaborate through code reviews, technical discussions, and pair programming.
- Participate in on-call support and troubleshooting for team-owned services.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Utilize AI-assisted development tools responsibly to enhance development efficiency while maintaining quality standards.
- Work with engineers and product managers to scope and plan projects.
- Contribute to the interview and hiring process.
Requirements:
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- 2 to 5 years of software development experience.
- Strong skills in modern JavaScript or TypeScript and component-based frontend frameworks such as React.
- Proficiency in one or more development technologies, with preference for React, Java, or Kotlin.
- Experience in web development, frontend architecture, cloud microservices, or event sourcing.
- Knowledge of server-rendered or hybrid web frameworks; experience with Next.js is strongly preferred.
- Understanding of web performance, accessibility, analytics, and SEO fundamentals.
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices including automated testing, monitoring, CI, and code reviews.
- Experience in production troubleshooting and on-call support.
- Demonstrated determination and eagerness to learn in a dynamic environment.
Pay Range and Compensation Package:
- The base salary for this position ranges between $86,500.00 to $135,000.00, determined by role specifics, candidate qualifications, and location.
- The compensation package includes performance bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive suite of medical, financial, and other benefits for eligible employees.
