Title: Senior Full-Stack Engineer – Product
Time: Full-Time
Location: Remote within the United States, with 40–50% travel to customer sites, primarily Washington, DC and Tampa.
Compensation: $170,000–$220,000 base salary plus competitive equity.
The Company
Our client builds software and technology for teams working on national security and defence missions. Its capabilities support a range of government users, with work spanning maritime vigilance, information challenges and intelligence. The company focuses on equipping operators with technology suited to complex, mission-critical environments.
Role Overview
Join a new product engineering team expanding an agentic AI platform to new missions, datasets and operating environments. This is an opportunity to combine hands-on full-stack product engineering with forward deployment: you will work directly with operators, understand the challenges they face and build features that make the platform useful in their environment.
Working as part of a new two-to-three-person team, you will take ownership from the initial user requirement through implementation and production deployment. The work includes integrating with government-owned systems and travelling to customer sites, so you can see the product and the problems it solves firsthand.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and ship user-facing product features across the full stack, using React on the frontend and working with PostgreSQL, Redis and S3 for the platform’s data, caching and storage needs.
- Spend time with government operators at customer sites, understand their mission needs and turn those needs into clear product requirements and features.
- Deploy and integrate software into government customer environments, working with government-owned data platforms, identity and access management (IdAM), security information and event management (SIEM), and cross-domain solutions (CDS).
- Own product features end to end, from understanding the requirement and implementing the solution through to deployment in the field.
- Collaborate within a new, small product engineering team to expand an agentic AI platform to new missions, datasets and operating environments.
Qualifications
- 4-10 years of experience as a full-stack or product engineer and a completed degree.
- Experience personally building software for government or defence problems or customers, and deploying software into customer environments.
- An active US security clearance. TS/SCI required,
- Hands-on experience working with or interfacing with government-owned IT systems, such as data platforms, IdAM, SIEM or cross-domain solutions.
- Hands-on full-stack product development experience with a modern frontend framework such as React, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, caching technologies such as Redis and object storage such as S3.
- Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with customers; willingness to travel approximately 40–50%, primarily to sites in Washington, DC and Tampa.
- A balanced frontend/backend or frontend-heavy full-stack background is advantageous. Experience with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) or LLM agents is also a plus.
